I couldn't think of a name for this one so I started to read a magazine and a Baldwin
locomotive caught my attention. Hence, Baldwin Mercantile, aren't you glad you asked.
<<<<< The front door, which I rescued from some old kit, the
figure, the truck and a couple of details are the only non
scratch-built things in this model. I will write a D.I.Y. article
on how I made the tree at a later time. The truck is a large
Micro Armor truck modified for civilian duty.
<<<<<  Moving to the left side
is a well weathered wall of
basswood siding covered
with vertical sheets of Paper
Creek Model Works Z Scale
tar paper. The vertical slats
are missing in places and the
paper is torn off or peeling off.
                                                                   >>>>>
All the windows were cut out of card stock,
there are curtains in the top floor and a real
display window with real stuff in it (not a picture)
on the first floor.  I try to use manufactured
windows whenever I can because "doing
windows" is so tedious.
<<<<< This model has such detail as
a wall badly in need of repair: the
studs show where some of the
boards have fallen off, the sort of
detail you usually find only in larger
scales. A pile of wood on the roof are
testimony that the owners are
repairing the structure.
                                               >>>>>
Other details include a sidewalk built
board by board and the produce case
with greens in them. This building is
one of the few I built which are solid,
not hollow.

Thank You for looking, I hope you
have enjoyed yourself.
