I couldn't think of a name for this one so I started to read a magazine and a Baldwin locomotive caught my attention. Hence, Baldwin Mercantile, aren't you glad you asked.

<<<<< The front door, which I rescued from some old kit, the figure, the truck and a couple of details are the only non scratch-built things in this model. I will write a D.I.Y. article on how I made the tree at a later time. The truck is a large Micro Armor truck modified for civilian duty.

<<<<< Moving to the left side is a well weathered wall of basswood siding covered with vertical sheets of Paper Creek Model Works Z Scale tar paper. The vertical slats are missing in places and the paper is torn off or peeling off.

>>>>> All the windows were cut out of card stock, there are curtains in the top floor and a real display window with real stuff in it (not a picture) on the first floor. I try to use manufactured windows whenever I can because "doing windows" is so tedious.

<<<<< This model has such detail as a wall badly in need of repair: the studs show where some of the boards have fallen off, the sort of detail you usually find only in larger scales. A pile of wood on the roof are testimony that the owners are repairing the structure.
