This is a Woodland Faerie. She takes special care
of things that grow and live on the forest floor where
she flies just a few inches off the ground.
Faeries have to keep clean too, it is
falacy to think that just because they
are magical they don't get dirty...
   She is about 120mm high
and everything except the
twig, rock and leaves was
scratch-built.
... and so, having found a puddle of dew
on top of a mushroom she uses a handful
of moss to get rid of the dust and pollen
that might have collected on her  body,
especially her delicate wings.
Most pictures will magnify twice
This is a Faerie of the Fields, her short but sturdy wings make
her highly adept at darting from flower to flower, sometimes
hovering, sometimes landing on a tall grass stem or flower.
She is the Faerie responsible for sprinkling dew on plants and
flowers and old men's beards. She goes to bed early and wakes up
before dawn. Sometimes you might think you caught a glimpse of her
but it always seems to be a dragonfly. And
that's magic my friends.
My hand is to give you scale, that's likely to be
the most you will ever see of me.
Some of you might wonder why they are so
buxom and if I have some sort of fetish about
boosoms. It's simply that big ones are easier to
do than little ones, you just roll a ball of
appropriate size, put it in place and squish it
down at the top and, voila.  A breast. OK? OK.
This little guy has a pince nez, a little red vest
and a coat  all cured one layer at a time. The
fimo hand was sculpted and cured around the
cane for a realistic look . He too lives in the
woods and chases the smaller faeries around. He
is a lot more spry than he looks like (camouflage
) and if he catches them ... Well, where did you
think little fairies came from?
Someone asked me why HE wasn't nude? I said that if
I wanted to see a little old phart sittng on a mushroom all
I had to do was sit butt-naked on a kitchen stool in front
of a mirror.                              What a question !
This is "The Snail Rider".
Although she can fly she prefers to ride and play
her flute which she also uses to guide her mount.
I ate the escargot and kept the shell. The new inhabitant is Fimo, pretty realistic huh?
PIPE DREAMS.

The little guy takes a break under a
deadly fingus (
Amanita faloides) and
sneaks a pipefull of dried moss.
The 'shroom is made of Fimo with
a light wash of black applied to bring
out the details. Looks real huh?
The green-bottle fly is real of
course and is the little guy's pet
and companion. Because of the
close association with  Faerie
magic these flies have a much
longer lifespan than their wild
counterparts. Don't you just love
making up stories like that ?
   The clay pipe is
also made of Fimo, it
was baked before
adding to the scene
then baked again
once in the correct
position.
MORE TO COME.
A scene called "Lovers' Spat."

The Faerie Folk of Mount Tamalpais.
All the sculptures you see here are made with Fimo.
This is simply called "The Butt Warmer".

Can you guess how I did the ashes?
