Meet Mr. D.
A strange concept for a figure?
Lets fess up ( for the French speakers perhaps I
should say fesses up!) we've all done it at one time or
another and if you think loggers or miners always had
a one-holer handy you are mistaking.
Every layout needs several of
these. Put him behind a bush, a
tree or a rock, perhaps in a scene
behind an outhouse with a
padlock on it or a long line of
people waiting to get in. Note the
leaves in his left hand, I hope
they're not poison ivy.
The next step will be to spray him
with a coat of primer and correct
any little mistakes or blemishes it
brings out. Then it's off to Kevin's
who will make molds. A long
process.
The following pictures show you how I sculpted him out of Fimo. It is the natural coloring, the figure is
left unpainted. When you see a photo of Mr. D. or any of my figures in
Figures 'N Bits  it will be that of
the first or second cast in epoxy resin before the final mold is made and pewter figures cast for sale.
<<<<<      The twisted brass armature. The
head is basically a skull with four holes in it.
The large feet aid in handling. The arms are
not in their final position.
More Fimo is built up around the body, note
that the face is now detailed.          >>>>>
Each time something is added the Fimo is
baked to  harden it otherwise the soft
material would be damaged by tools, fingers,
etc...
Always work from the inside out. In this case
the shoes are "inside" pants. >>>>>
Pants come next
after which the
hands are sculpted,
baked and the
armature bent to its
final position.
Moony
The prairie shirt is next with
the sleeves added last to meet
with the hands. I decided to
add three buttons to the shirt
afterwards and may still add
suspenders.
Pooping In The Woods
WHAT IS IT?
It's a close-up of Mr. D's
butt.
It's a picture of my own
ass before treatment.

Answer hidden elsewhere
in this website. Hint:
crappy reading glasses.
Mr. D with a
small part of
Mr. L showing.
Introducing "Peepin' Steven and the Two Ladies". (Why should Tom always get the blame ?).
The Cast of Characters:
Steven.
He's the one on the
right. Could be looking
in a window, an
outhouse or pushing a
door closed.
Mom.
She can be
placing a blanket
on a clothes line
or sending up
smoke signals.
The Decently
Disrobing Dame.
    She could be
inside a building,
creek-side or on
the beach.
These three figures - and Mr. D.- are on their way to
the caster's. Hopefully they will be available for the
end of the month at the NG convention. The blanket
and fence are included.
More to come: a critter driver ( actually Comb-Over
Charlie's Brother) and a five-piece  jug band.
Some very nice birds ---I've seen some that looked like
they came out of one of my teeth--- and a Juke Box.
Ladies of questionable reputation called L's belles.
