OLD STUFF
This is another junk yard called SAL VEDGE & Sons
Recycling.
You might think I have a "thing" for this kind of
industry but they're fun to build, a good way of getting rid
a lot of spare junk (hehe) and in this case a showcase for
my own new details.
The crane is scratch built from
brass tubing, N scale ladder stock
(from way back) and watch parts.
Car Repair Shop #5.
I decided the interior was too detailed to hide so instead of
a removable roof I built it with an entire open side.
There are tools, workbenches,
machines, shelves loaded with stuff,
three Preiser figures a-working,
things on the wall and a trash can
that used to be an oil drum that is
loaded with length of wood.
Another reason for not having a
removable roof is the micro bulbs
that light up the place.
The CT Oil Co. or something like it can be seen in many places around the country. As old railroad cars are discarded and
junked they are grabbed by such industries or re-used by the railroads themselves. This could be an oil refueling facility for
the XYZ Lines as well.
The office is basswood siding, the tank car is MTL, the pipes are from an HO locomotive and the truck a modified GHQ
model. Happiness is where you find it.
Other ways to recycle old cars:
Water tank from an old tender.
Yard Office from an old box car.
