"The Derelict" is an
abandoned factory with a
rusty  roof, missing and
rotten boards and boarded
up windows. Shrubs and
weeds are taking over the
property and ivy is growing
up one wall.
The boards that cover each window are
individually applied, and for diversity
some have been loosened by hobos to
gain access. Note also the leaning
stack with broken stays.
"This just in from our newsroom: the Bank of the South West was broken into early this morning. The robbers, in an
attempt to blow the safe, blew out the wall instead. All the windows in the building were broken by the blast and the
roof  suffered major damage in the attempt".
This is a burned out factory of sorts. It was
NOT built then set fire to, it doesn't work
that way. Look in the
D.I.Y.  page to see
how I did it.
"This just in from our newsroom: the
local Jail was the scene of a
break-out last night. Two inmates
escaped when an unknown number of
accomplices attached a cable to one
of the window's bars and ripped them
out. The Police is investigating.
Did you wonder where our newsroom is?
WZZZ or KZZZ, depending on whether you are on the Left Coast or the Right Coast.

This is available as a kit from
Continuing my "Wrong Side of the Track" series this old
Antiques Store has so many loose boards it rattles. Note the
weathering, the broken boards and the "antiques".
There are also plenty of broken window panes
and junk laying around in the back, or are those
antiques also ? Hard to tell.
It looks like the roof is an antique
also and in dire need of repair else
a lot of priceless treasures are
going to be wet when the next
rains come along. I used various
Paper Creek Models roofing
materials and boards. Note the
sway also.
More derelicts. Note the patched up roofs and overgrown yards.
